Pasa-Jell™ 102

Products Description

Pasa-Jell™ 102 does not contain fluorides and can be used in applications where fluorides are prohibited.

Pasa-Jell™ 102 is designed to clean and passivate aluminum and aluminum alloys. It accomplishes the passivation by removing foreign materials and corrosion products that could set up local cells and cause pitting corrosion, and by forming an extremely thin but corrosion-resistant adherent oxide film on the metal.

Pasa-Jell™ 102 can also be used to remove anodized coatings from aluminum, although it does not act as rapidly as Pasa-Jell™ 101. When spot removing anodized coatings, it will stay in place without running onto adjacent areas.

Use

Storage / Precautions

Application

Remove oil or grease by wiping trhe area with an oil-free solvent (do not use reclaimed solvents) or by other effective methods. Allow the surface to dry. Apply Pasa-Jell 102 in a thick layer with a polyethylene, polypropylene, or fluorocarbon bristle brush. The coating should not be so thick that it will sag or run. Allow the coating to set for 20-30 minutes, then rinse with cool tap water. Allow the surface to dry.

The time required to remove anodized coatings will vary somewhat with the thickness, type, and age of the coating.  Heavy corrosion or old, thick anodized coatings may require an application of Pasa-Jell 101 prior to passivating with Pasa-Jell 102.
